Cont… Home Remedies for Oily & Greasy Hair

Hi Friends!! Like promises here is the continuation on Home remedies for oily and greasy hair.


How to Use Conditioners:

You should apply the conditioners up to end of your hair if you have dry hair. If you have oily hairs please do not use conditioners as it makes your hair even oilier.

Avoid Serums & Glossy Gels:

People with oily hair have a shine on their hair. People with oily hair should avoid using serums and glossy gels for their hair. Serums and glossy gels will add to the problems for people with oily hair.

Brushing the Hair:


People with oily hair should avoid brushing their hair too many times as this distribute the oil to hair every time you brush. 

Baby Powder:


If you’re planning to go out and have no time to wash your hair the best it to dust baby powder i.e. baby talcum powder and leave it for 5 minutes and then brush your hair. The powder will soak up the surplus oil from your hair.

Vinegar and Lemon Juice Rinse: 


Another way to reduce the oiliness is to rinse you hair after shampooing with vinegar diluted in water or lemon juice. For this remedy take 2 tbsp of white vinegar  or the juice of one lemon and mix it with 1 cup of water. After you wash your hair with shampoo you should rinse your hair with this mixture and then again wash your hair with water as usual. Lemon juice and vinegar are good to control the oiliness.
 
Beer Rinse:


Beer  is very good to reduce the oiliness and greasy from your hair. For that matter any alcohol is good for making the hair dry and more the alcohol content the better it is. For this remedy take 1/2 cup of beer and mix it with a few cups of water. Rinse your hair with this mixture after you have shampooed your hair. This will reduce the oiliness and greasiness in your hair and give your hair a lovely shine.

Tea Rinse: 

After washing your hair with shampoo your hair can also be rinsed with diluted tea mixture. Tea has a property called tannic acid which acts as an astringent and reduces the oiliness. For this remedy boil tea leaves with a glass of water. When the mixture is warm or comes to room temperature apply the mixture to the hair and scalp and leave it on for some time and then wash your hair as usual with a mild shampoo.

Mint Rinse:


Mint leaf is also good for removing the grease and oiliness from the hair.  For this remedy you need to boil a handful of mint leaves in two glasses of water for fifteen to twenty minutes. Add this mixture to the shampoo you use and wash your hair with it. Mint has an astringent property in it which is good for removing the excess oil from the hair. 

Egg Yolk & Lemon Juice:


Egg yolk is also good to remove excess oil from the hair. Egg yolk not only removes the oil from the hair but it also gives hair a shine. For this remedy take 2 egg yolks  to this add a few drops of lemon juice and beat it well. This mixture should be applied on wet hair, it is not necessary that you hair should be soaking if your hair is slightly wet it is enough. Keep this mixture on for about 5 to 7 minutes and then rinse you hair. Use this remedy at least twice or thrice a week to get rid of oiliness in your hair. 

Oatmeal Remedy: 


Oatmeal is also an excellent home remedy to reduce oiliness in the hair. Since oatmeal is thick in nature it takes up the oil from the scalp and also relieves from itchiness. For this remedy prepare oatmeal the usual way and when the mixture becomes cold apply it generously on the scalp and leave it for about 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse as usual with a mild shampoo.

Baking Soda: 


Baking soda also helps in reducing the oiliness and greasy from the hair. But it should be diluted and then only used. Baking soda curtails the oiliness in the hair. For this remedy you need to mix 3 tbsp of baking soda in 1 liter of water. Now apply this mixture on your hair and leave it on for about 20 min and the wash your hair as usual. People with oily hair can do this treatment thrice every week.

Tea & Rosemary Rinse:

A mixture of tea and rosemary is also good to reduce the oiliness in the hair. For this remedy in a bowl take 2 tbsp of dried rosemary and to this add 1 cup of boiling water and cover it for 20 minutes. After 2 min strain it and store in a plastic bottle and after every time you wash your hair you can spray this mixture on your hair.

Henna Treatment:

You can use henna or Mehendi to condition your hair. Henna is good for oily hair as it makes the hair dry. You can mix yogurt with henna powder and apply it on your hair. This remedy can be done once in two weeks.

Right Food:

People with oily hair and scalp should avoid eating oily and processed food as far as possible. Remember that whatever you eat shows up your look and body. Eating food which are deep fried or food that is available at fast food centers will worsen your scalp condition. Instead of eating fresh fries, chip, burgers etc eat fruits and vegetables. You should include almonds, dates, raisins and berries in your usual diet. Instead of drinking canned juice it is better to drink fresh fruit juices.

Drink Plenty of Water:

Water is good to wash out the pollutants from your body. You need to a lot of water if you want a healthy scalp.
